To the Very Last Corner: Marco Zanasi Takes a World Podium at Mugello

Under a gray sky and heavy rain, Mugello set the stage for one of the most intense and unpredictable races of the Ferrari World Finals. The Trofeo Pirelli AM round turned into a true test of endurance, with extreme conditions challenging even the most seasoned drivers. Among the standout performers, Marco Zanasi (Motor Service – Pinetti Motorsport) once again demonstrated his talent and his ability to read the race in its toughest moments. Starting from the tenth row, the Modenese driver tackled the wet track with composure and determination, managing the most chaotic phases of a race repeatedly interrupted by the Safety Car and marked by incidents and last-gasp overtakes.

After an initial suspension due to excessive water on the track and a restart with reduced time, the race became a battle of strategy and nerves of steel. When everything seemed decided, just minutes before the end, another Safety Car intervention bunched the field for a thrilling final lap. It was there that Zanasi seized the moment, capitalizing on the front-runners’ duels to make a decisive overtake on reigning European champion Henrik Vol, thus securing a well-deserved third place in the Trofeo Pirelli AM World Final, behind Andrew Morrow and Michael Verhagen.
