Zanasi Racing Makes Strong GT Open Debut at Misano with Marco Zanasi and Andrea Belicchi

From June 5 to 7, 2026, the International GT Open arrived at the Misano World Circuit for a weekend packed with high-performance GT machinery and top-level racing action. Some of the most prestigious Gran Turismo cars took to the track, driven by internationally renowned competitors, while teams and fans from across Europe gathered to enjoy one of the highlights of the GT racing calendar.

The event also marked the debut of Zanasi Racing in the GT Open championship, with the Misano circuit providing the stage for the team’s first appearance in the series. Representing the team were owner-driver Marco Zanasi and professional racing driver and coach Andrea Belicchi, who faced a demanding and highly competitive race weekend.

The team’s first outing proved highly encouraging. The driver pairing quickly developed strong chemistry, making the most of the car’s potential and adapting effectively to the challenges of a fiercely contested field. Their efforts were rewarded with a Pro-Am class victory and an impressive third-place overall finish, highlighting both the competitiveness of the package and the strength of the team. The result was made even more meaningful by the presence of the entire Zanasi Racing squad at the circuit, sharing every moment of the weekend together.

Marco Zanasi commented on the team’s GT Open debut:
“It’s always a pleasure to get back behind the wheel of the Ferrari 296 Challenge, and doing so for Zanasi Racing’s debut in this championship made the weekend even more special. Sharing the cockpit with Andrea Belicchi, a friend as well as a highly experienced driver and professional, is always an added value. We enjoyed Race 1 and achieved a very positive result, taking victory in the Pro-Am class thanks to the outstanding work carried out by the entire team. It was a particularly emotional moment because we were able to celebrate it together with all our team drivers who were at the circuit supporting us and sharing in the success. Overall, the weekend was very positive and confirmed the competitiveness of both the team and the car as we look ahead to the remainder of Zanasi Racing’s Italian GT Championship season.”
